The artifact that carries your name
Every output of the product should be a tiny billboard: a footer, a watermark, a 'made with', a public page. Usage becomes acquisition.
If the work product is seen by people who are not users yet, you have a free channel. If it is trapped inside an account, you do not.
How to run it
- 01Ask: what does a user send, publish, or print?
- 02Put a tasteful, removable-later mark on it.
- 03Land the click on a page that continues the same job.
- 04Measure assisted signups from the artifact, not just branded search.
In the wild
Hotmail's email footer. Notion public pages. 'Made with v0 / Framer / Canva'. Gumroad storefronts that look like the creator, with Gumroad underneath.
